OUR MESSAGE FOR TODAY’S SUNDAY SERVICE ON JULY 12, 2015 IS GENESIS: 17-27 ABRAHAM’S IRREVERSIBLE COVENANT OF CIRCUMCISION THAT LED TO HIM BEING FATHER OF MANY NATIONS:

ABRAHAM’S IRREVERSIBLE COVENANT OF CIRCUMCISION THAT LED TO HIM BEING FATHER OF MANY NATIONS: 1. I want to begin this message with a question, do you know the only one who can promise and never fails irrespective of how long it takes? The answer to that question is the Covenant keeping and making God. Some Christians are impatient in waiting for Gods appointed time, and because of that miss a life time opportunity. Abram was ninety nine years without the blessing in his hands and he held on to that promise. Wait on the Lord. See verses 1-3 2. Do you know that when things get tougher with you, that is when God intervenes in your life to reverse the irreversible? God said to Abram, you will no longer bear the name of Abram because you are father of many nations, from this day henceforth your name will be Abraham. Some of you will say that God is to slow; some will say why it took him to long to fulfill the promise. My answer to you is that Gods time is the best. Hereby are the blessings of waiting released into Abram’s life for his obedience to God: a) Name changed from Abram (Single) to Abraham (Many) b) Father of Many Nations; bareness turned to fruitfulness & growth c) He received the anointing for fruitfulness all the days of his life d) He no longer becomes a single family, nations was made out of him e) Kings that rules the world was made out of him f) An everlasting Covenant was established between him and God g) Generational blessings was released upon him and his descendants h) The Sovereignty vowed to be their God till eternity. See verses 4-8 3. The exciting thing here is that God reversed every irreversible in the life of Abram and his generations unborn, and went further to make a covenant with him, what is this covenant? To Abram it was circumcision but to you, what is that thing the Lord is asking from you as a covenant to do for him that is too hard for you to release from your hands? But blame him for your misfortunes, I challenge you today to release whatever it is that God is asking from you to make an everlasting covenant with you, your seeds and him. See verses 9-14 4. I want you to know, if you do not know before, that God cannot make a covenant with a family and live anybody in there out especially when he wants to reverse the irreversible. After blessing Abraham he turned to Sarai his wife and said to her your name will no longer be Sarai but Sarah the mother of many nations, Kings will come from her and she will bear Abraham a son of destiny. In the eyes of both Abraham and Sarah in their new names it looks irreversible because they were mortals, but was it irreversible for God? The answer is “NO”. We all need to learn something from here, Abraham was concerned about God blessing Ishmael the child out of Sarah’s impatient through her maid but God said he will be blessed but Sarah will give birth to the destiny child for both of them. See verses 15-18 5. When the irreversible is reversed in your life, God speaks into your future and releases blessings that look impossible in the site of man into your life. He said to Abraham your wife will give birth to a son and his name will be called Isaac and I will establish my covenant with him. Take note here names of destiny children are ordained by God from heaven even before they were conceived or given birth to. No power or principalities even spiritual wickedness in high places can stop the coming of destiny children into this planet earth. Has God given you a name for your unborn child? If yes begin to speak that child into existence for your family for he/she has a purpose in life as ordained by God. I speak into every woman that has been called barren, to receive the anointing power of God to give birth to a destiny child or children in Jesus name say Amen. See verses 19-22 6. Finally, I want to encourage you to walk in obedience with God, try your best to do everything he asked you to do. Learn to hear from him and have personal relationship with him like Abraham had, and God reaches out to him to bless him when ever he is in need. I challenge you to do same like Abraham Today. Abraham's obedient stretched the hands of God to reverse the irreversible of barrenness for 100 years and opened great doors of blessings that have no end. It takes humility, obedience, dedication and commitment to God to connect to this kind of covenant blessings. Abraham circumcised everybody in his house including servants in the house to keep the covenant with God. It might interest you to know that Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised the same day irrespective of Abraham’s age. Walk in obedience with God. See verses 23-27 7. My prayer for you today is to receive the Anointing power to enter into the plan of Gods covenant with you and your family, and receive the covenants blessings that comes with it so that you can reverse every irreversible in your life and family, and live a life of humility to celebrate God all the days of your life in Jesus name Amen. Read below: Genesis 17:1-27 (New International Version) The Covenant of Circumcision 17 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty[a]; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. 2 Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” 3 Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, 4 “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. 5 No longer will you be called Abram[b]; your name will be Abraham,[c] for I have made you a father of many nations. 6 I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. 7 I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. 8 The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.” 9 Then God said to Abraham, “As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. 10 This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. 11 You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. 12 For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring. 13 Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant. 14 Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.” 15 God also said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah. 16 I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.” 17 Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?” 18 And Abraham said to God, “If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!” 19 Then God said, “Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac.[d] I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation. 21 But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year.” 22 When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him. 23 On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him. 24 Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised, 25 and his son Ishmael was thirteen; 26 Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised on that very day. 27 And every male in Abraham’s household, including those born in his household or bought from a foreigner, was circumcised with him.
